Ellerman House sits perched on the slopes of Lion’s Head in the prestigious Bantry Bay residential area in Cape Town. The elegant Cape Edwardian mansion was once the home of the shipping magnates, Sir John and Lady Ellerman and is known for having one of the most beautiful ocean views in South Africa.
Their expansive collection includes works by Pierneef, Laubser, Preller and Sekoto. Contemporary South African art is well represented by John Meyer, Debra Bell and Kentridge amongst others. Their art gallery artfully tucked into the mountain is a masterpiece in its own right.
